Editions Propose an Edition

Have an Idea Africa Should Encounter?

Institutions, companies, universities, organisations, entrepreneurs and individuals can propose an edition to KandaNews Africa.

Every proposal is reviewed through the Kanda Lens and, where accepted, developed with our editorial team into a KandaNews edition.

Our principle

The partner may bring the story.KandaNews must still find the meaning.

Whether KandaNews approaches you, or you approach KandaNews, the editorial standard does not change.

How an edition can come to life

KandaNews Editorial Edition

An edition initiated primarily by KandaNews editorially.

Partner Edition

An edition developed collaboratively around a meaningful shared subject.

Sponsored Edition

An edition commercially supported by an organisation while remaining subject to KandaNews editorial standards.

Sponsored relationships are always clearly identified.

Institutional Special Edition

An edition developed around an institution, university, company, sector, event or milestone where there is genuine reader value.

Personality Edition

An editorial exploration of someone's ideas, work, journey, lessons or impact.

Not a praise profile — an honest look at what others can learn.

When you propose, you can indicate the relationship you have in mind — Editorial Collaboration, Partner Edition, Sponsored Edition, Institutional Special Edition, Personality Edition, Series Proposal, Knowledge Partnership, Not Sure / Please Advise. Your choice helps us understand your intent; it does not guarantee that KandaNews will classify or publish the edition that way.

The proposal process

From idea to edition

  1. Propose

Tell us the idea and why it matters.

  2. Kanda Review

KandaNews assesses relevance, credibility, reader value and editorial fit.

  3. Discovery

Where appropriate, KandaNews engages the proposer to understand the subject, available material and possibilities.

  4. Shape

KandaNews determines the editorial angle, format, structure and reader value.

  5. Create

The edition is developed or supervised according to KandaNews standards.

  6. Publish

Accepted and completed editions are published through the appropriate KandaNews channels.

  7. Grow

Strong editions may develop into further conversations, series, events or partnerships.

Editorial independence

Editorial authority is not for sale

A company, institution, sponsor, entrepreneur or personality cannot purchase KandaNews editorial authority.

Partners may verify factual information concerning themselves where appropriate — but factual review is not editorial control.

KandaNews retains final editorial responsibility for:

  • Angle
  • Structure
  • Headlines
  • Verification
  • Presentation
  • Suitability
  • Publishing schedule

Ready to propose?

The proposal takes about 15 minutes: your details, your organisation (if any), the idea, the material you have, the relationship you have in mind and any supporting documents. Your progress is saved on your device as you go.
